Cheering on the SOA Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade team will be one of those incredible memories i will never forget!! It was living out a dream!
Just the sheer size and excitement of the production of the parade performance was absolutely unforgettable.
My SOA chaperone group made the very best memories during our trips to the The Rockettes, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and Broadway shows! I will never forget laughing through the streets of New York with them.
The first time I walked down the parade route, and I’m looking up at the sky, and I’m seeing people looking down at me from buildings and clapping and so excited to see the parade, that’s when I went “Oh My God am I really a part of this?!” That was the moment for me, that’s when I knew I wanted to keep doing this as long as I can. And this will be my 17th year.
It’s selfish, for me I get to see all my friends from all over and catch up once a year, and share this great city with a new bunch of kids and see the wonder and excitement in their eyes. It’s like the first time every time. Spirit of America staff is like a second family, we all love doing this every year, providing the opportunity for the kids to have this experience.
