OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES SETS RECORD STRAIGHT REGARDING UNSETTLED SUIT WITH U.S. ALL STAR FEDERATION

The recent appellate ruling in the trademark lawsuit did not change a thing. The court did not say USASF owns the word "Worlds," and it did not say USASF even has a valid claim. In fact, the court rejected most of what USASF argued. It agreed that "Worlds" is just a common, everyday way of describing a championship event the same kind of shorthand as "Regionals" or "Nationals." The bottom line is that USASF still has a long, uphill road ahead if it wants to continue with this lawsuit.
OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES RAISES CONCERNS OVER POTENTIAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT VIOLATIONS

This past year, the International All Star Federation (“IASF”) and International Cheer Union (“ICU”) entered into a settlement agreement with the Open Championship Series (“Open”). Under this settlement, they committed to permanently eliminating all restrictions on participation in non-IASF divisions and to refrain from retaliating against any athlete, team, or gym that chose to compete in the Open’s Allstar World Championship. Since then, IASF and ICU have publicly represented to the Open and a Federal District Court that they complied with that agreement.

Amarillo, Texas — The Open Championship Series (OCS) and Deep South Spirit (DS) today announced a landmark settlement with the International All Star Federation (IASF) and the International Cheer Union (ICU), marking a historic step forward for the international cheer and dance community.
The agreement, reached on November 10, 2025, officially resolves the international portion of the ongoing antitrust case brought by OCS and DS. The result ensures that no international entity can restrict access to the AllStar World Championship, opening participation to international event producers and athletes.
